RHS Chelsea Flower Show

The sites main intake service was not up to the job of powering the event at the high demand peak. They were going to be using a generator to produce the extra power needed and KES were tasked with designing a distribution solution that would work with this. We were asked to provide a solution that was adaptable, future proof and reliable to ensure flawless performance during peak demand. 

For those of you not too familiar with this an electric switchboard is a device that directs electricity from one or more sources of supply to several smaller regions of usage, in this case the supply being the generator and mains, the generator being synchronised with the network and the regions of usage being the various gardens, vendors and hospitality areas of the show.  

The solution provided by KES was a distribution panel that was fully automatic, intelligent and used motorised interlocked 1250A switch gear meaning it is capable of selecting the appropriate supply to meet demand with no input needed from an outside source.

The system provided was also made to be easily expanded upon to meet future growth in demand as requested by the client and with the above mentioned features is able to supply faultless performance in providing a reliable electrical distribution network for this prestigious event.
