Updated Labelling Reflects Our Commitment to Clarity and Customer Confidence
22/07/2025
At KES Power & Light, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, reliable electrical distribution solutions—and that includes clear, helpful information for end users.
As part of our ongoing drive to improve customer experience and ensure maximum usability of our products, we’ve updated the safety labelling on our distribution units. Going forward, all new units will feature a revised label reading: “Ensure load does not exceed incoming supply.”
This update replaces the previous advisory—“Do not exceed 70%”—which was originally introduced as a general safeguard across our range. While this advice offered a conservative buffer to support a wide variety of operating environments, it didn’t always reflect the actual configuration or capacity of certain units.
For example, a standard stock unit with a 63A three-phase incoming and a typical mix of 32A and 16A single-phase outputs would rarely approach full capacity. In these cases, the 70% label may have unintentionally suggested that less power could be drawn than was safely available.
By refining our labelling, we’re providing clearer guidance that’s tailored to the specific capabilities of each unit—helping users make better-informed decisions without compromising on safety.
It’s important to note that the ultimate responsibility for safe and compliant use lies with the installation electrician or electrical contractor. As with any temporary electrical setup, it is essential that the final installation is tested and signed off in accordance with current regulations and best practices.
This is not a product change, but a communication one. All units past and present remain safe and fully compliant when used as intended. This is simply the latest step in our commitment to transparency, efficiency, and customer trust.
If you have any questions about how to get the most from your KES distribution units, or would like help understanding your available capacity, our technical team is always happy to assist.
